Babies' Day
Francis' daughter is one month old today and we had a gathering at his house. He has only invited the current and former staff of SPS so it was more like a mini get together for those of us who have left SPS. There were Weiling (Mrs Catherine Lim) who is teaching at St Anthony's Canossian Convent, Hwee Cheng (Ms Chng) is with Rulang Primay, Shahidah is in Greenwood and Sahir at Parry Primary. We were glad to be seeing one another again since we have all been busy with our work. Of course Francis' child is not the only toddler around. There were Rahilah's daughter, Chee Wei's son, Rena's son, Chia Ling's daughter and Saira's daughter. Though there were more females than males (sorry but I felt that gals tend to be more chatty), they weren't making too much noise either they were still too young to do so or they were all well trained (all their parents are teachers what). So you can imagine the normally quiet house was suddenly enlivened up by the presence of the children. They were the centre of attention and indeed it was their special day. Anyway, it was not only the youngsters who were having a good time, their mothers were also busy sharing their experiences on the upbringing of their child with the expecting mothers (Weiling and Shahidah) and singles like Angela, Joey, Winnie, Roslinda and a few others while we guys chatted about work and things in general. It has been quite a while since we last have such a gathering and I kind of miss these eating and chatting sessions which we used to have when I was still at SPS. Was glad that they have not forgotten to invite me and to share their joys with me. I was the first in SPS to get married while Francis was among the lastest and he has already been promoted to fatherhood while I'm still not a daddy. Actually I would have been one 4 years ago if not for the miscarriage but I guessed I was not fated to become a father, probably that's my retribution for ill-treating those children under my charge. Perhaps I would have another chance now that I'm not teaching? Perhaps I'm already too old to be one? Perhaps I'm not destined to become one since I'm not sure I can be a good father? Perhaps or perhaps not. Another one interested in adopting a daddy?
